What Does EXCELS Mean to You?
Excel can mean different things to different folks depending on their circumstances and what is important to them. It could mean exceling at sports, grades, or reaching your retirement goals. In the book High Octane Brain by Dr. Michelle Braun, it means something altogether different. EXCELS is an acronym for ways to reduce your risk of developing dementia through the following lifestyle changes.
EX = exercise
C = Consume Healthy Foods
E = Engage and Learn
L = Lower Stress and Boost Well-Being
S = Sleep for Brain Power
To learn more about all of these areas and what evidence-based research you can follow, consider joining our High Octane Brain Book Club starting in January! To sign up call the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 715-726-7777.
